Team Australia with great pleasure announce its basket ball team having 12 athletes chosen to signify Australia’s Women’s Wheelchair Basketball team as the Gliders which is going to play Basketball Paralympic Cup in the year May, 2010.
Features of the team
The team features nine of the bronze medal-winning team members from the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing. Tina McKenzie will once again captain the side after leading them to the gold medal at the Osaka Cup in January.
Career highlight of Tina McKenzie
She Won gold at the 2009 Osaka Cup. In Beijing city during the year of 2008 in same Paralympic game she won a bronze medal with the Gliders. She also played Asia Oceania Qualification tournament in the 2007. She won silver medal in Osaka Cup. She also played WNWBL Championship in the year of 2006 and begs a Gold Cup for her country. In the year 2004 she won silver at Athen. In the year 2002 she won bronze at Japan. Similar she begs more of the medals and cup.
Time and Venue for Paralympic World cup
The Cup will be played from Thursday May 27 – Sunday May 30 in Manchester, England.
Campaign of the Gliders
The Gliders will open up their campaign against the Netherlands on Thursday May 27 before taking on Canada and Great Britain in the opening rounds. The medals will be decided on Sunday May 30.

The Head Coach will be John Triscari, Assistant Coaches are Ben Osborne and Matthew Dunstan, Emma Whiteside is the Physiotherapist and Marian Stewart is the manager of the Gliders team
